I really enjoyed that I could pick the assignments that I felt were the most interesting to me. I did not enjoy how much writing there was, but it was still very manageable. This course is in the middle. It was much easier than my master's program, but a little more time-consuming than other independent study courses I have taken. This course will benefit me because it renews my why. It gave great strategies to remember for teaching, and I am very excited for the new year. Aaron P., NE
This was a more poignant book study focusing on a hard topic that a lot of teachers grapple with. Mielke offers a lot of great insight and mindset shifts to help battle burnout. His experience as a teacher of positive psychology really helps him relate to how to implement what he is teaching. Be ready to really think about yourself and how you see the world so that you can be more empathetic, forgiving, resilient, and aware. Megan T., OH
Another amazing Be A Great Teacher course. I felt I took the class at a perfect time when I am in the thick of feeling burned out from teaching. Great reminders and opportunities for reflection on why our job is so important! McKehna B., NE
Lots of helpful information to help keep me from falling victim to teacher burnout and to help me maintain a healthy work/life balance. Arleigh W., NE.
I thought that this course was well designed and relevant to my situation as a strength coach/teacher at the high school level. I was able to work at my own pace, which I loved and I was able to learn new things that I am excited to take into my next year of teaching! Isaac A., IA.
I enjoyed this book and course as it allowed me to reflect on my reasons for becoming an educator. Nicholas M., NE.
I really enjoyed reflecting on the reading through responding to the questions of my choosing. The thing I liked the least was that it was hard to choose some of the questions to answer because I didn't like them. This was one of the better graduate courses I've taken. This will benefit me in the way of having more tools to combat teacher burnout. Samantha P., ND.
This course gave me some great ideas on how to manage all the stresses that come with the profession. Sean W., NE.
I enjoyed the items that I could take to my classroom immediately. Also, the book enabled me to guide younger teachers in the building and give them ideas to help them on a daily basis. This course was very comparable to other classes I have taken previously. This course will help me to make connections with students. Scott S., NE.
This class is a must take for all teachers! It challenged me to reflect and be honest with myself. This class gave me strategies that not only helped me reflect and become more self aware but that I could use with my students as well. Megan D., IA.
