I enjoyed this class very much. It has been a lot time since I've thought about Bloom's taxonomy vis a vis my teaching practice. It's been a very healthy experience. Christopher T., IL
Another great course from Be A Great Teacher! I really loved the lesson by Addison Sadler called Creating Competent Communicators. She was an enthusiastic presenter and gave me lots of easy to apply strategies for my classroom. The book for the course, 50 Strategies to Boost Cognitive Engagement, is an excellent source for ideas I can implement immediately. It expanded my thinking about how to reach the higher levels of thinking that is required of student for full engagement. Amy K., IA.
This class helped me look at my teaching and do some deep self-reflection on how well I am doing as a teacher in incorporating student-centered activities. Ashley J., NE.
I enjoyed all the ideas for teachers to try in each video! The books were easy to read and was fun to revisit blooms taxonomy. Ann H., MN
I have thoroughly enjoyed taking the course GIFTS. I especially involved diving into the book "50 Strategies to Boost Cognitive Engagement". It was nice to see some of the things that I do within my classroom identified in the book. It was also nice to learn about some new strategies that I can incorporate into my classroom. Timothy W., IA.
Another great course with Be a Great Teacher. Thank you! Lindsay B., NE.
I liked that it used some skills that I hadn't thought of before such as helping students practice their public speaking skills which I haven't seen as much as a priority in my teaching. Arleigh W., NE
I really enjoyed this class. I am excited to use some of the new strategies I learned in my own classroom and teaching. I also want to tweak some of the previously learned ideas/strategies to fit into my new learning. The book on 50 ways to books cognitive engagement was very interesting and full of so many applicable ideas for 2nd graders to promote those higher levels of thinking and student engagement. Sarah E., OH.
My favorite part about this course was the textbook that listed 50 strategies to improve cognitive engagement. This is one of my weaknesses as an educator so the textbook was able to help me learn new strategies that I can implement an use on a daily basis. This was one of my more enjoyable courses that I have taken with Be A Great Teacher. Alex J., OH
The course was very beneficial. Some of the videos were a little outdated but still had relevant information. The strategies were clear and will be very easy to implement into my classroom without a ton of prep time. Overall the course was good and will benefit my teaching practices. Heidi B., IA.
