I enjoyed and thought that most of the videos and the book fit the topic well. The last video that discussed using animals could be eliminated. Teachable moments are essential but animals are not necessary. Besides some classes through Be a Great Teacher, the other courses I have taken are specific to curriculum that we are using in the classroom. This class can help me to become a more effective leader in my classroom and school by taking much of what I learned. David A., OH.

This course used a book that was excellent! The author had so many wonderful ideas about how to make classrooms work efficiently for teachers and students. She had great ideas about managing our work load and learning to separate work from personal life. The videos that were part of the course were also excellent. Very well designed course. I liked the idea of positive classroom habits for the course but I felt that some of the information was contradicting or far too repetitive. This course was not as good as the other courses I have taken, but I still learned valuable information. I enjoy watching the videos and doing article reviews far more than reading the textbook. I enjoyed the content because it is relevant to teaching today. It is helpful for me to reflect and revisit some ideas that I haven’t thought about in awhile. Some of the ideas mentioned are things I used to do but since abandoned. However, I will use some of these strategies because they work! Kara D., NE

I really enjoyed this course. I liked the fact that it discussed both strategies that I could implement into my classroom, but also talked in depth about the fact that we are more than just teachers of content. A big part of our jobs is teaching kids how to be good humans. There was not much that I did not like about the course; the course matched the description well. I believe teachers want courses that directly impact their classrooms, and this course did that. Abby B., NE.
